Bukhansan mountain is situated on the northern periphery of South Korea. It was designated as the 15th national park of Korea in 1983. Nowadays, it is a popular place for hiking and rock climbing. The mountain is approximately 49 miles wide (78.45km), composed of six districts, and extends out into the Gyeonggi-do Province. If you enjoy hiking, Bukhansan is the best place in Seoul for this activity. See the beautiful vivid autumn leaves in the fall or the cherry blossoms in the Spring. No matter what season you are coming, you will enjoy your hike and appreciate the different sceneries.

The most famous attraction is the Bukhansanseong Fortress built along the mountain’s ridges. It was built with a wall stretching on 8,500 meters, specifically designed to stop a foreign invasion. Other nearby attractions include the Sangunsa Temple which was built by the monk Won-Hyo, and numerous other temples that occupy the mountain’s areas.

Head to a Jjimjilbang, also known as Korean sauna. It is a large, gender-segregated public bathhouse, furnished with hot tubs, showers, Korean traditional kiln saunas and massage tables. If you’re a Korean drama fan, you may know that Jjimjilbang are very popular in the Korean culture. Koreans sleep overnight at the Jjimjilbang for quite an affordable price, and they commonly wear sheep head shaped towels, adding more fun to the experience.
