Enjoy this 10-hour small group tour of Nami Island, Petit France, and Garden of Morning Calm. Get away from the busy city and enjoy the beautiful scenery at these popular destinations.  You may also recognize Nami Island from the popular Korean drama "Winter Sonata." In between sites, visit Chuncheon to enjoy the city's world famous Dakgalbi (spicy stir fried chicken).
Note: You will not have to worry about being brought to overpriced ginseng/amethyst centers as this tour is compulsory shopping free.

The day will start with pick up from your hotel between 7:30am and 8am via a comfortable and spacious 11-passenger vehicle. From there, we will make the approximately 1.5 hour drive to Nami Island (entrance fee via ferry included).

Nami Island is famous for being a shooting site of the hit Korean drama "Winter Sonata." It is also famous for the scenic tree lined roads that offer spectacular views of autumn foliage, but the scenery is beautiful year round. There are also fun activities available such as zipwire, bike riding, electronic car tour, and many more. These activities are optional and not covered by the standard entrance fee.

After Nami Isand, head over to Chuncheon City to try the city's world famous Dakgalbi dish (spicy stir fry chicken). Non spicy and other meal options are available for all types of dietary restrictions as well.

From there, head to the nearby Garden of Morning Calm. Garden of Morning Calm is the oldest private garden in Korea. It is an artistic space with a beautiful balance between the Korean concept of natural curves with asymmetry, and plants with synthetic materials. Scenic walkways, beautifully manicured grass, and flower beds connect the garden's 20 different themed sections.

The last site of the day is Petit France. Nestled in the hills, you would think that you have arrived at a real French village in the Alps. The village is inspired by the famous French novel "Le Petit Prince." The village actually contains a memorial hall to Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the author of "Le Petit France." Enjoy a mix of food, shops, performances, and French culture.

Finally, the tour will end with drop off at your hotel.

Cover the essential city highlights in a small group setting and end the day by taking in Korea's #1 non-verbal musical comedy show, Nanta. This full-day tour will cover some of the city's most popular highlights: Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, N Seoul Tower, Gwangjang Market, and Nanta Show. You can also choose an option without the Nanta Show. Unlike many others, this tour is compulsory shopping-free so you will not have to worry about being taken to ginseng/amethyst centers.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel between 8:30 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. in an 11 passenger van. This group tour will be limited to a maximum of six passengers in order to ensure comfort.

Your tour will start with start with the Royal Changing of Guards ceremony outside of Gyeongbokgung Palace. From there, you will make your way inside Gyeongbokgung Palace. Built in 1395, Gyeongbokgung Palace is also commonly referred to as the Northern Palace because its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeonghuigung (Western Palace) Palace. Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful and remains the largest of all five palaces.

Next, make the short walk to Bukchon Hanok Village. Surrounded by Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Jongmyo Shrine, Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses, called hanok, that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. The name Bukchon, which literally translates to "northern village," came about as the neighborhood lies north of two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Today, many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants, and tea houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience, learn, and immerse themselves in Korean traditional culture.

By this point you will have worked up quite an appetite. You will proceed to the famous Gwangjang Market Food Alley where you can chose from a dizzying array of traditional Korean street foods to eat (own expense). Be sure to save room for lunch. You will have bibimbap, Korean mixed rice, for lunch inside the market (included).

After lunch, you will be taken to the city landmark that is known as N Seoul Tower. Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the deck located at the base of the tower. This is where the wall of "love locks" are located. Couples write their names on locks and hang it on the chain link fence. You can choose to ride the cable car or take the elevator to the top of the observatory (own expense).

End the day with the 5 p.m. Nanta Show Performance at Myeongdong Theater. Nanta is a non-verbal show that combines rhythms from traditional Korean folk music with modern music to tell a story filled with both drama and comedy.

For those who chose the option without the Nanta Show, you can roam Myeongdong on your own for about an hour and be dropped off at your place of lodging or you can make your own way back to the hotel if you want to stay in Myeongdong longer.

At the end of the show, your guide will drop you back off at your place of lodging. You may choose to stay in Myeongdong and make your own way back if you wish.

$99.00

Join a small-group tour, up to 6 passengers, for a full day tour (approx. 9 hours) covering sites related to Korean War history including the bridge of freedom, DMZ tunnels, Seodaemun Prison History Museum, War Memorial, and Dorasan Station and Observatory ... More info ›

Join a small-group tour, up to 6 passengers, for a full day tour (approx. 9 hours) covering sites related to Korean War history including the bridge of freedom, DMZ tunnels, Seodaemun Prison History Museum, War Memorial, and Dorasan Station and Observatory. Lunch, hotel pickup/drop-off, and entrance fees are included. There are no compulsory shopping stops on this tour.

The day will start with pickup from your place of lodging. This is a small-group tour with a maximum of 6 passengers so you will ride comfortably in an 11 passenger van instead of being packed in a bus with a large group.

Once everyone is picked up, you will depart Seoul by 7:30 a.m. You will make the 1-hour trip to Paju where the DMZ is located.

The first stop inside the DMZ will be Imjingak Park. Imjingak Park is located on the bank of Imjin River. You will visit the Bridge of Freedom. This bridge was a former railroad bridge used to repatriate prisoners of war and soldiers returning from the North. You will also see old war relics and photos at Imjingak Park.

Next, you will take a shuttle that will take you into the Third Infiltration Tunnel. As the name indicates, this tunnel was the third of its kind to be discovered. The Third Tunnel was discovered in 1978 by South Korean forces. It spans over a mile (1,635 meters) in length, 6.5 feet (2 meters) in width, and 6.5 feet (2 meters) in height and is located 32 miles (52 kilometers) from Seoul. It is estimated that approximately 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel per hour.

From there, you will visit nearby Dorasan Station and Observatory. Dorasan Station is the northernmost stop on South Korea's railway line. Dorasan Observatory is the northernmost point of the Military Demarcation Line. You can look over the border into North Korea from the Observatory.

After the DMZ tour is finished, you will make the 1-hour drive back to Seoul where you will have lunch. Choose from one of the following popular Korean dishes:

  • Bibimbap (mixed rice)
  • Nangmyeon (cold noodles)
  • Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi stew)
  • Dongkatsu (pork cutlet)

There will be alternatives available for any dietary restrictions. Please consult your guide.

After lunch, you will make your way to Seodamun Prison History Museum. The Seodaemun Prison History Hall is a museum and memorial that honors those who suffered and gave up their lives for Korea during the Japanese occupation. The institution was used by the Japanese to house independence and pro-democracy activists. It also represents the suffering of the Korean people as they struggled to archive independence and democracy.

The final stop will be War Memorial. The War Memorial of Korea, located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, exhibits and preserves materials related to the Korean War and serves as a national moral educational venue. It was established to commemorate the noble sacrifice of patriotic martyrs by the War Memorial Service Korea Society on June 10, 1994. The museum houses approximately 33,000 artifacts with about 10,000 on display at an indoor and outside exhibition halls.

This concludes your tour. You will be dropped off back at your place of lodging.
